The Sales Manager, Social & Public Events serves as the primary point of contact for social, community, and public event opportunities at the Lynnwood Event Center. This role builds meaningful relationships, guides clients through the sales process, and helps create a dynamic event calendar that brings people together and supports the District's mission. Reporting to the General Manager, this position works independently while partnering closely with the Senior Sales Manager to ensure a balanced event calendar and exceptional client experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for social and public event inquiries from initial contact through contract execution.
- Conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, negotiate agreements, and guide clients through the booking process.
- Build relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, promoters, businesses, and other partners to create new event opportunities.
- Develop partnerships that increase community engagement and encourage repeat business.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop event packages that meet client needs while supporting venue goals.
- Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, and forecasting within the event management system.
- Partner with the Senior Sales Manager and General Manager to maximize calendar utilization and support long-term booking strategies.
- Represent the Lynnwood Event Center at community events, shows, networking opportunities, and industry functions.
Requirements
- Two (2) or more years of event sales, venue sales, hospitality sales, or related experience.
- Demonstrated success managing client relationships and converting inquiries into booked events.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Experience managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of event pricing, food and beverage minimums, and contract negotiations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM or event management software.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as business needs require.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a convention center, hotel, or full-service event venue.
- Experience with wedding, social, or community event sales.
- Relationships with local nonprofits, community organizations, promoters, or event producers.
- Experience booking consumer trade shows, expos, or public events.
