The Event Assistant plays a key supporting role in the operations team, ensuring world-class experiences across events. Working closely with Event Managers, this hands-on role supports planning, setup, live event delivery, and breakdown. It is suited to someone energetic, proactive, organised, and ready to get stuck in when needed.
Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Preparation- Support Event Managers with end-to-end event planning, documentation, schedules, and operational prep.
- Assist with preparing equipment, stock systems, signage, and key event resources.
- Help collate compliance and risk assessment documentation.

- Onsite Event Delivery- Support setup and breakdown of catering outlets, bars, and concessions at events.
- Provide hands-on operational support, including stock movement, queue management and problem-solving.
- Act as an onsite contact for outlet managers, suppliers, and concession partners.
- Monitor unit presentation, compliance, and customer service standards across all outlets.
- Stock, Financial, and Compliance Support- Assist with stock control processes including deliveries, waste monitoring, rotation, and reporting.
- Support Event Managers in completing post-event documentation and reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, food safety, and licensing regulations.
- Help maintain accurate records such as sales declarations and operational reports.
- Customer, Client & Supplier Interaction- Represent Freemans Event Partners professionally with clients, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Support delivery of a consistent and high-quality customer experience.
- Assist with gathering feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Teamwork & Culture- Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Support the welfare and development of onsite teams.

Requirements
- Essential- Full, clean UK driving licence (required due to extensive travel to event sites).
- Flexible, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take a hands-on approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, honest, and able to maintain high personal standards.
- Attention to detail with good organisational skills.
- Willing and able to travel extensively and stay away from home, including weekends.
- Positive attitude and desire for personal development.
Nice to have
- Desirable- Experience in events, hospitality, retail operations, or logistics.
- Familiarity with greenfield event environments (e.g., festivals, outdoor sporting events).
- Basic understanding of food & beverage or bar operations.
