Weekend Motorsport Event Staff Positions - Chicago - Milwaukee

FAT Karting League is seeking enthusiastic and hard-working individuals with a passion for motorsport to join their weekend staff crew for 2025. The roles involve working Friday to Sunday and potentially travelling to different karting circuits around the Midwest. Positions include Event Manager, Customer Experience Lead, Customer Sales Advisor, Mechanics, Race Director/Clerk, Marshals, Dummy Grid Marshall, Timekeeper, Driver Coaches, and Pit lane Coordinator. The mission is to achieve mass participation in motorsport by reducing barriers to entry, running karting events across the Midwest for drivers of different experience levels.

Requirements

• We are looking for somebody with event organisation and management skills with experience at motorsport events, to assist at our events.
• We are looking for someone with lots of energy, enthusiasm and great customer service skills. They will need to be empathetic, calm and work well under pressure.
• We are looking for an experienced Customer Service candidates to work part time in the evenings, this role will be making phone calls to our perspective customers to assist them with any questions they have before they sign up.
• We are looking for a number of skilled and unskilled mechanics roles with various levels of experience to join our team to assist in the preparation and maintenance of karts. Skilled mechanics should have experienced in either race cars, motorbikes or karts. For these positions, we have full and part time roles.
• We are looking for experienced individuals to be responsible for our judicial processing and implementation of sporting regulations.
• We are looking for individuals to assist with on track incidents, recovering karts and to warn drivers via flags or marshal lights. An understanding of motorsport rules is important for this role.
• We are looking for individuals to assist with the smooth operation of our pitlane by ensuring karts and drivers are ready for the next session or race.
• We are looking for an experienced motorsport timekeeper, preferably with experience of Alpha Timing.
• We are looking for people with a passion and understanding of motorsport who feel they could work as driver coaches to pass that knowledge on. These people will need to have good communication skills and need to be comfortable communicating with and working with children.
• We are looking for someone with good people and organisation skills who can work well under pressure and has the confidence to be a team leader. Experience in motorsport desirable but not essential. This role might suit someone who has previous experience of working with children.
